Este é um vinho que tenta ir mais além na expressão da vinha, do local e da região de onde provém. Durante vários anos tentou-se fazer um branco com maloláctica, onde se pudesse prolongar o estágio, tanto em barrica como em inox. Mas o Douro é uma região quente, mesmo nas zonas mais altas e na maior parte dos anos não se conseguiu ter acidez suficiente para o fazer. Neste vinho, o solo de micaxisto contribui com mineralidade e frescura. O envelhecimento prolongado dá-lhe estabilidade e o tempo em cuba antes do engarrafamento integra melhor todos os elementos, tornando o vinho mais compacto e vivo. O Coche é o Branco mais cobiçado da Niepoort e que tem o perfil mais próximo de um grande Borgonha.
