Malvasia Preta was planted at Quinta das Carvalhas in 2002, facing south. It is characterized by small, compact clusters with small berries and thin skins, which led us to believe that a fine, elegant wine would be born, but with a well-defined character from the Douro region. We were right! And, in order to preserve these characteristics, fermentation took place in small stainless steel tanks with skin contact, followed by an 8-month aging period in used French oak barrels so as not to mask the varietal character of this spectacular grape variety.
