This wine is a notable example of the Noval style. It undergoes exactly the same treatment as Vintage Port: it comes solely from noble grape varieties of the estate, with foot-trodden grapes and no filtration. What sets it apart is the fact that it ages for four or five years in large wooden casks, instead of two years like Vintage Port. It is undoubtedly a distinctive Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) with very well-structured tannins, great freshness, and purity of fruit. It is delightful to drink now, but it will age beautifully in the bottle.
