Located in the heart of the Cima-Corgo sub-region and bathed along 1.5 kilometers by the waters of the left bank of the Douro River, Quinta das Tecedeiras owes its name to the nuns who inhabited it and dedicated themselves to weaving linen, which was cultivated there in the past. The soils are schist and the exposure is north and east, with the vineyards between 90m and 190m altitude. The grapes ripen well and with great concentration of aromas and flavors without losing their freshness. When the vineyards were converted, care was taken to leave some plots of old vines, whose grapes are judiciously integrated into the blends of all the red wines DOC or Porto of Tecedeiras.
