Vinification of Quinta das Bageiras Garrafeira Tinto 2018: The grapes for this wine come from very old vines (over 90 years old). They undergo fermentation for 5 to 8 days in an open lagar without destemming (the berries are not removed from the bunch). Following this, there is pump-over with wooden paddles several times a day until the correct intensity is achieved. The wine then completes fermentation in already aged wooden vats. During its resting period, it is clarified and ages in the same vats for about 18 months. It is bottled without any fining or filtration. All these processes are carried out manually. This wine is only produced in years of exceptional quality.
